In town and out (in search of Mia).

As Kris said earlier, these past three days have been a great reminder of how fragile the whole adoption process is. It’s been frustrating, all the stops and starts and shifts. But at the same time, it’s kind of like parenting. Feeling our way forward, with each kid in their own way, always not quite sure that we’re doing what’s right (although there’s always plenty of advice out there about how to resolve any challenge!)

But relationships aren’t meant to be resolved, they’re meant to be shared. And we’re sharing this with Mia right now, even if she doesn’t know it – experiencing a little bit of the holding pattern and uncertainty that have marked her life. The rug always being pulled out from under her feet. Right now we’re just sharing that, from two different locations, a few miles apart.
