More waiting.

Yesterday, Savor let us know that she had talked to the Civil Affairs office, and they said that we might not be able to receive Mia on Sunday. This was tough news – and many hours of holding our breath followed. Last night she called and told us it will be Monday morning, and so now that is our hope.

We spent the day walking around the city. It was incredibly crowded and smoggy, always noisy with scooters and buses and construction, full of some pretty sketchy smells – but also peaceful in it's own way.

Ada and Evelyn have been wonderful. I can say confidently that they have done better with parts of the trip than I have. They are giddy, adventurous, and positive. People stare at them when we are out, and they just smile back. We are really really proud of them.

They didn't bat an eye when asked to barter for valuable items such as panda bear necklaces and hair bows at the night market.

Although they do hesitate at the some of the food that comes to our table when eating at restaurants (after one meal, we walked 6 blocks to buy peanut butter and honey, just to return they favor after they humored us in trying new foods.) They've been incredible, such a big help!

During a morning trip to pick up staples at the grocery, I asked Savor if she could think of anything I should get Pinyi. She said: "No, right now she just needs a family. The nannies at the orphanages work very hard but cannot hold each child the way a child needs. She needs someone who can hold her all the time. Once you get her, we will come back to the store and get whatever she points at."

One more night as a family of four!
